We depart Nairobi in the early morning with Turkish Airlines and arrive in Istanbul around 11AM. You will be welcomed by our representative at the airport. He will assist you with immigration clearance and transfer you to the hotel. The afternoon is free for shopping after a guided tour of the City.
Istanbul is the only city in the world that is located on two continents: Asia and Europe. The metropolis of millions on the Bosporus has an impressive 3000-year history, making it one of the oldest cities in the world. Sights can be found all over the city. It is one of the most exciting cities in the world. We will explore the highlights and some hidden gems during the next three days. Among them are:Â

Today we depart for Amman the capital of Jordan, rich of history and the countries economic, political and cultural centre. After arrival we will have a city tour showing both the old and the new city centre. Modern malls and ancient buildings stand side by side. The capital of Jordan is situated between the desert on the one side and the agricultural productive Jordan valley on the other. Citadel and the Roman theater are on the highest hill in Jordan and offer a view if the city from the top. On a clear day you will be able to see the City of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
Our first stop today is Madaba, 30 km from Amman and famous for it’s wonderfully vivid, 6th century Byzantine mosaic maps showing Jerusalem and other holy sites. We proceed towards Monte Nebo – the site of Moses’ view of the Holy Land more than 3000 years ago. Mt. Nebo offers a fantastic view westward that includes the Dead Sea, the West Bank, the Jordan River, and, on a clear day, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
Our third highlight today is a visit of the Dead Sea – the lowest point on earth, and the world’s richest source of natural salts. You are invited to enjoy the swimming before we depart to Amman for dinner and overnight.
Jerash is an ancient city located in northern Jordan, known for its well-preserved Roman ruins. It was a thriving urban center during the Roman Empire and is often referred to as “Pompeii of the East” due to its impressive architecture and urban planning. Some of the key features of Jerash include the Oval Plaza, the Cardo Maximus (main street), the Temple of Artemis, the North and South Theaters, and the Hadrian’s Arch.
Ajloun Castle, also known as Qal’at ar-Rabad, is situated on a hilltop in the Jabal Ajlun district of Jordan. The castle was strategically built by the Ayyubids in the 12th century and later expanded by the Mamluks in the 13th century. It sits on a high vantage point, overlooking three wadis (valleys) that descend towards the Jordan Valley.
The castle played a significant role in the defense strategy of the region and was part of a network of fortifications. Ajloun Castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and is an important historical site in Jordan, showcasing medieval Islamic military architecture. The castle has been restored and is open to visitors, providing insight into the history of the region and the architectural prowess of the Ayyubids and Mamluks.
Petra, a renowned archaeological site located in Jordan’s southwestern desert, is approximately a three-hour drive from Amman City. Dating back to around 300 B.C., Petra served as the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Accessible through a narrow canyon known as Al Siq, this historical gem features tombs and temples intricately carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its moniker, the “Rose City.” One of its most iconic structures is the 45-meter-high Al Khazneh, also known as The Treasury, boasting an ornate Greek-style facade. Our itinerary includes a full-day visit to the Petra site, followed by a return to the hotel in Amman for dinner and an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, we will arrange for your transfer to the Allenby border, providing assistance during the immigration process. Once the border formalities are complete, we will proceed to visit Jericho, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Mt. of Temptation and the Sycamore Tree. After this enriching experience, we will transfer you to your hotel in Jerusalem, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey.
Embarking on a scenic journey, we will visit the iconic Mt. of Olives, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. On Sunday Palm Road, we will descend to explore Gethsemane, including the notable Dominus Flevit church and the revered Church of All Nations.
Our next destination is Mt. Zion, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Rooms of the Last Supper, King David’s Tomb, and the Dormition Abbey. A visit to the Peter in Galicantu Church adds to the richness of our itinerary.
Continuing our exploration, we will head to Ein Kerem, where the Visitation Church awaits. This itinerary promises a blend of historical and religious significance, ensuring a memorable experience at each stop.
Exploring the captivating Jerusalem Old City, our journey will take us to the Pool of Bethesda and St. Anna Church, both significant historical and religious sites. Following the path of the Via Dolorosa, we will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Golgotha, immersing ourselves in the rich religious and cultural heritage of these sacred places.
Our excursion extends to Bethlehem, where we will marvel at the Church of the Nativity, a key pilgrimage site marking the birthplace of Jesus. The Shepherd’s Fields in Bethlehem will also be part of our itinerary, providing a tranquil setting to reflect on the biblical narratives associated with the Christmas story. This exploration promises a profound and meaningful experience in the heart of these revered locations.
Upon checking out, our journey continues northwards, leading us to the city of Haifa. Here, we will visit Stella Maris, enjoying panoramic views of the Baha’i Gardens and the majestic Golden Dome. The beauty of Mount Carmel unfolds as we explore this scenic location.
Our next destination is the city of Nazareth, where we will delve into religious history by visiting the Church of the Annunciation and the Joseph Workshop. These sites hold significance in the biblical narrative and provide insights into the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region.
Continuing our exploration, we will make our way to Cana, known for the Wedding Church, a site commemorating the biblical event where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine. This leg of the journey promises a blend of cultural, historical, and religious experiences in the northern part of the region.
Our exploration takes us to Mt. Tabor, the revered site of the Transfiguration. Here, we can immerse ourselves in the spiritual significance of this location. Continuing our journey, we visit Capernaum, where we explore St. Peter’s House and the ancient Synagogue, gaining insights into the historical and religious context of the area.
Moving on, our next destination is Tabgha, home to the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, a site commemorating a significant miracle in the Christian tradition. The nearby Mount of Beatitudes, associated with the Sermon on the Mount, provides a tranquil setting for reflection and contemplation.
Our itinerary concludes at Yardenit, the Baptism site on the Jordan River. Here, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in a baptism ceremony in the River Jordan, adding a profound and spiritual dimension to our journey. This day promises a meaningful exploration of key religious sites in the region.
As our journey comes to an end, we will arrange a transfer to Israel Ben Gurion Airport for your departure. Your flight back home, with a layover in Turkey, awaits. We trust that your visit to the diverse and historically rich sites in Israel has been a memorable experience.
